TSA Proposing Updates to the Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has notified members of the air-cargo community that it intends to update the Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program (IACSSP) to address various regulatory and operational issues. The proposed changes are classified as Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and cannot be shared in this article, but impacted clients are advised to review TSA’s notification of the changes posted to the Indirect Air Carrier Management System. The comment period is open through July 14. Members of the air-forwarding community are encouraged to submit comments to the agency identifying concerns, questions, and requests for clarification regarding the proposed changes. In addition, businesses that screen cargo under TSA’s Certified Cargo Screening Standard Security Program and Standard Screening Procedures for Air Cargo for U.S. Locations are reminded that TSA previously announced a set of proposed updates to those programs. Comments regarding those changes are due by June 30, 2025 (see our article dated May 12, 2025).
