Shannon Cohen primarily practices in emerging technologies, independent contractor issues, and legislative services.
Cohen focuses on forthcoming and active legislation and regulation pertaining to issues affecting motor carriers, particularly on legislation touching on the independent contractor status of owner-operators. She has extensive experience counseling clients on owner-operator programs and issues attendant to the design of a successful owner-operator model. These services include:
- Drafting and revising legislation
- Assessing and communicating the impact of such legislation on the trucking industry
- Drafting and reviewing independent contractor and other transportation agreements.
Cohen also serves in several internal leadership roles within the Firm including:
- Scopelitis Law Firm General Counsel
- DEI Committee Co-Chairs
- Serving on the Firm’s technology, hiring, and ethics committees
- Summer Law Clerk Program Co-Leader
- Firm Management Committee Member
She has also been a featured speaker on these topics to industry stakeholders and associations.
