Kelli Block’s practice is devoted to assisting clients with a variety of legal issues, concentrating on independent contractor issues facing the transportation industry. She counsels transportation carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics companies on owner-operator, regulatory compliance, transportation contract review, insurance, alternative risk management, employment tax, and unclaimed property matters. She also defends transportation companies in various investigation and enforcement matters, including IRS audits, U.S. DOL investigations, and single and multi-state unclaimed property compliance audits. Block has also participated in the defense of insurance disputes, as well as class actions against motor carriers involving challenges to the treatment of owner-operators as independent-contractors alleged violations of the Federal Leasing Regulations.
She has also been a featured speaker on these topics to industry stakeholders and associations.
