Andy Light’s multifaceted transportation practice spans over forty years. He works with national and international clients collectively involved in for-hire and private motor carriage, third-party logistics, shipping, and equipment leasing. His practice areas include the following:
- Federal and state regulatory compliance, including procurement of all types of licenses, permits, and vehicle accounts
- Tax, including state sales and use tax related to rolling stock, IFTA fuel tax, and state highway use tax
- Vehicle titling and registration, including IRP and state registration and strategies related thereto
- Contracts and agreements
- Acquisitions, corporate structuring, and liability risk management
Light regularly works with numerous federal, state, and provincial agencies, including the USDOT, FMCSA, Surface Transportation Board, state regulatory commissions, motor vehicle departments, IRS and state tax agencies, and municipal port authorities.
