Victor Shane’s primary area of practice is workers’ compensation defense, representing insurance carriers, self-insured businesses, and third-party administrators. His work also includes insurance law, tort insurance defense, and the enforcement of clients’ subrogation rights.
Before joining Scopelitis, Shane served as Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County from 1984-1987. He then went on to his role as staff counsel for the Chicago Transit Authority from 1987-1991, during which time he worked primarily in the areas of tort defense and workers’ compensation.
He has lectured on workers’ compensation issues for the Chicago Bar Association as part of its Continuing Legal Education Program.
